Definitions for "Colorimetry"
The quantitative determination of the depth of color of a substance.
A method of quantitative chemical analysis based upon the comparison of the depth of color of a solution with that of a standard liquid.
The term applied to all chemical analysis techniques involving reactions in which a color is developed when a particular contaminant is present in the sample and reacts with the collection medium. The resultant color intensity is measured to determine the contaminant concentration.
Using an instrument called a colorimeter, a given solid color may be quantified by analyzing physical color data and by treating the results so they apply to color as we see it and use it in practice. Most colorimeters measure an area of at least one-half inch.
instrument (colorimeter) measures color differences. Used in measuring the color of blood to determine the proportion of hemoglobin.
An analytical method by which the amount of a compound in solution can be determined by measuring the strength of its color by either visual or photometric methods.
