Definitions for "Classicist"
A term used for composers of the Romantic period who maintained a more classical view of music and did not embrace the ideas of mysticism, nationalism, and program music. The best examples of Romantic classicists are Brahms and Mendelssohn. ( Lesson 26, Page 1)
