Definitions for "Chocolate Cyst"
A cyst of the ovary caused by endometriosis. The name comes from the old, dehydrated and thickened blood that it contains. Often causes an increase in serum CA 125 antigen and can usually be seen on transvaginal ultrasound.
An endometrial cyst filled with old blood and endometrium which is found on the ovary.
An ovarian cyst filled with old blood. Most commonly found when endometriosis attacks the ovary, causing it to bleed and create the cysts. close window
