Definitions for "Chickens"
Categories include “broilers,” young chickens usually 6 to 8 weeks old and 3 to 5 pounds, raised primarily for meat; and “layers,” chickens raised to lay eggs. We are not going to go much into the different chicken breeds, but there are many. Our personal favorites are the Leghorns because they remind us of Saturday morning cartoons and the Dorkings because the name is s-o-o-o funny.
