Definitions for "CFIS"
Federal/provincial/territorial initiative aimed at re-engineering Canada's food inspection activities at all levels of government in order to eliminate overlap and duplication, industry exposure to 'red tape' and reduce costs. This is to be achieved through developing one set of harmonized food safety, processing establishment, laboratory and product identity standards that can be delivered by the most cost effective means.
A national comparative database used as a tool for finding areas of clinical and financial improvement within hospitals. CFIS allows the opportunity to generate various internal studies such as demographic, cost management and utilization. CFIS also affords the ability to compare one hospital against others on a DRG, diagnosis or procedural level.
