CEDARS is an acronym for CURL Exemplars in Digital Archives. CEDARS was a JISC funded project exploring themes of digital preservation. LIFE builds on some of the work carried out by CEDARS.

Cedars are gymnosperms in Division Coniferophyta and the family Cupressaceae that have woody conelike fruits and overlapping scale-like leaves.

Cedars was the second album released by Clearlake, two years subsequent to debut release Lido. It includes the single "Almost the Same", and both tracks from the double a-side "The Mind is Evil"/"Come Into the Darkness". The album also includes a secret hidden track.
