Fiber optic cable that has connectors installed on one or both ends. General use of these cable assemblies includes the interconnection of multimode and singlemode fiber optical cable systems and optoelectronics equipment. If connectors are attached to only one end of the cable, it is known as a pigtail. It's connectors are attached to both ends, it is known as a jumper.
A piece of cable that has been terminated with one or more connectors.
A wire or set of wires that are terminated at the ends with contacts and connectors to establish an electrical connection between 2 points. Harnesses, Coilcords, DIN, Crimp, IDC, Ribbon and D-Subs are some types of cable assemblies. ( Find out more)
A length of cable or a coiled cord with end work. (See end-work).
A cable with plugs or connectors on each end, or within the assembly. In fiber optics, general use of these cable assemblies include the interconnection of multimode and single mode fiber optic cable assemblies. If connectors are attached to only one end of the cable, it is known as a pigtail. If connectors are attached to both ends, it is known as a jumper.
A length of fiber optic cable with connectors on one or both ends.
Fiber optic cable with installed connectors, used to connect to optical equipment. Assemblies can be either pigtails (one side with a connector) or jumpers (both sides with connectors).
Includes the basic cable, rubber buffer or ball, cable clamp, socket, wedge, trigger snap and ferrule. CABLE CLAMP A critical part of the cable assembly that positions the rubber buffer or ball on the cable. It must be tightened securely to prevent excessive cable drum rotation. While not recommended, it may be moved upwards to make minor adjustments to change the retracted position of the load. A ferrule is compressed on the cable below the clamp to prevent it from being lowered and allowing excessive drum rotation. It should be set to the specifications to maximize spring life and optimize Zero Gravity performance. (4.9 feet from the anchor end of the cable for Model 7228, 6.5 feet for Models 7221, 7230 and 7240 and 9.8 feet for Model 7250.) The cable clamp and buffer must be at or near the nozzle before any service or repair is safe.
A cable that is ready for installation in specific applications and usually terminated with connectors.
A combination of bulk coaxial cable with coaxial connectors attached to each end.
A cable that is connector terminated and ready for installation.
A single coaxial cable with connectors or a group of wires and cables which has been formed in definite order and position and terminated in connectors. An assembly may include a jacket, strain relief members, potted connectors, and casted or molded junctions.
An optical fiber cable that has connectors installed on one or both ends.
