Fee paid to stockbroking firm for the buying or selling of shares. Also referred to as a commission.

Fee paid to a real estate broker for transacting the purchase or sale of a piece of property
Brokerage is payable by both buyer and seller. With effect from 1 July 2002, the brokerage payable for all trades in stocks, ordinary shares, preference shares and other securities listed and traded on the stock market of Bursa Malaysia [but excluding Government Bonds and Municipal Debentures, Other debentures (non-convertible) and Overseas Options] shall be on a fully negotiated basis between the broker and its client, subject to a maximum of 0.70% of the contract value.
