Definitions for "Back Order"
An item that is not shipped with the balance of the order. Item may not be in stock, yet produced or available. Generally the item will ship later after the majority of the order. Arden may pay for shipping costs.
Items that have been ordered but cannot be shipped due to stock out or some other reason. Prime measure of customer service performance (percent, number of occurrences, etc)
Any past-due, unfilled portion of an order. A back order may be for part of the quantity of any line item ordered or for an entire line item not delivered with the majority of the shipment. Back orders typically result from supplier inventory stock-outs.
