A palmitic ester of ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C). Which means it is joined by a fatty acid molecule derived from palm oil called palmitic acid. The bond between an acid and an alcohol is called an ester bond. This form of Vitamin C is non acidic and perfect for the most sensitive skin. Also ascorbly palmitate is not prone to oxidation as ascrobic acid. Which means that it is very stable and will retain its potency in a formulation.
