Archaeopteryx was a prehistoric reptile with limbs which resembled the wings of today's birds. It is considered a primary link in the evolutionary process between the ancient reptiles of millions of years ago and birds as we know them now.
The oldest known bird. Archaeopteryx had feathers, scales on its neck and feet, teeth, and claws on all four limbs. It is considered to be a descendant of early dinosaurs.
