Definitions for "Anticodon"
The sequence of three nucleotides on tRNA that pairs with a codon of mRNA at the A site of a ribosome during translation.
A triplet of nucleotides in a tRNA molecule that associates by complementary base pairing with a specific codon in the mRNA during translation, and specifies the placement of a particular amino acid during translation.
The triplet of contiguous bases on tRNA that binds to the codon sequence of nucleotides on mRNA. For example the GGG anticodon of a tRNA molecule recognizes the CCC codon on the mRNA (which codes for glycine) and places a glycine residue at that position in the growing polypeptide chain.
