Angus (Aonghas in Gaelic) is one of the 32 local government council areas of Scotland, and a lieutenancy area. The council area borders onto Aberdeenshire, Perth and Kinross and the City of Dundee. Main industries include agriculture and fishing.
Angus is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (Westminster). It was created for the 1997 general election, largely replacing Angus East. It is now a marginal seat between the Scottish National Party and the Conservatives.
