An affiliated company is a company that is related to another company in some way. The link between the two companies can take various forms, but will always imply some sort of financial or decisional subordination and/or special relation, and consequently a degree of influence over the affiliated company's decisions. A company with less than 50% of its shares owned by another corporation, or one whose stock, with that of another corporation, is owned by the same controlling interests.
