Tadpole is a small GUI for editing/executing SQL queries against the SQLite database. It was named after Toad, a similar but far superior tool for Oracle.
The young aquatic larva of any amphibian. In this stage it breathes by means of external or internal gills, is at first destitute of legs, and has a finlike tail. Called also polliwig, polliwog, porwiggle, or purwiggy.
The water-dwelling, early life stage of a frog or toad, having a tail and fish-like gills that eventually disappear as legs develop and the adult stage is reached.
A bright "wiggly" effect, normally with a tail.

a connected component with only one External vertex
In physics, a tadpole is a Feynman diagram with one external leg, which henceforth encodes a one-point function. The existence of a nonzero tadpole implies that the corresponding field has a nonzero VEV.
