A term for any of the audio and video cables that connect your system together.
Generic term for any cable or connector used to connect audio and video equipment.
Any cable or wire running between 2 pieces of A/V equipment. For example, RCA terminated cables connecting preamps and processors to amps.
Cables that are used to connect different pieces of electronics. This equipment includes amps, preamps, cd players, turntables and tuners. The connection between your amp and speaker are not interconnects, but rather speaker cables. Interconnects can be terminated in two ways; Single-ended and Balanced. Single-ended interconnects are the most popular. They use the traditional RCA connection (phono plug) to mate with your equipment. Balanced interconnects use a completely different connection type that uses three conductors (positive, negative and ground). Balanced interconnects are usually more expensive and are better for long runs (over 3 meters).
