Members of the Sunflower Family have special flowers called flowerheads. They are made up of many, tiny, individual flowers growing together. See the Sunflower diagram on the Special Illustrations page.
This is a grouping of many tiny flowers into one bunch on the top of a stem and is mostly used in reference to flowers in the Composite family, such as dandelion or daisy.
