Under the Family Law Act, parenting time (see also Time With a Child) is time when a guardian has the power to make day-to-day decisions about a child, and has day-to-day care and control of the child. This time is allocated in a parenting order. The concept of parenting time is used in the Family Law Act in place of "custody" and "access".
Formerly known as visitation, this is the time parents spend with their children. It is not a part of the overall responsibility of the child support enforcement unit.
Time parents spend with a child not living with them; also known as visitation.
The actual time a child is scheduled to spend with a parent. During parenting time that parent has primary responsibility for making routine decisions for the child but not major decisions (see custody).
Determined by the court to be in the child's best interest, this is the time each parent spends with the children.
