Co-op education gives students the opportunity to combine theory with on the job training. Co-op combines on-campus classes with periods of paid off-campus career related work experience.
An experiential mode of learning that integrates academic study and classroom theory with learning experiences at the work site. Students generally work at the employer's place of business for 1 school semester (5 months) for the equivalent of 3 hours per day. A formal training and evaluation plan is used to award students credits for their work (110 hours per credit). Most co-op students are in grades 11 or 12.
Several professional degree programs offer co-operative education options which enable you to integrate academic study with alternating paid co-op terms in co-operating employer organizations.

Co-op is currently an option for students in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, and programs in the Faculty of Arts and Applied Arts, and the Faculty of Science, Health, and Human Services, as well as for students with disabilities from any diploma or degree program.
