The Titans were the older race of Gods before the Greek Gods like Zues and his crew took claim of their place. There was a great battle between them in which the Titans lost. Titans looked like Giant humans. The picture shows the Titan Altas bearing the weight of the heavens. He was sentenced to carry the heavens after the battle with the Greek Gods.
Gaia, Uranus, and their children: Kronos, Rhea, Oceanus, Tethys, Hyperion, Mnemosyne, Themis, Iapetus, Coeus, Crius, Phoebe, Thea, Prometheus, Epimetheus, Atlas and Metis. The Golden age of Man took place during the rule of Kronos and the Titans. The elder race, or first gods, they refused to give up power to the next generation of gods. A ten-year war ensued between the Titans and the Olympians led by Zeus, resulting in the Titans being exiled to Tartarus, a stormy pit beneath the Earth later called Hades. At the end of the Age of Heroes Zeus released the Titans, making Kronos king of the Elysian Isles to rule over the shades of the Heroes.
The six sons of Uranus (Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Iapetus, Hyperion and Cronus) who overthrew their father Uranus.
A group of early Greek gods.
A family of large primordial gods that once battled with the Olympians. Because this family included such characters as OCEANUS and ATLAS, perhaps the original ATLANTEANS lost a battle, not with the Olympians, but rather with Mother Nature when COMET PHAETHON engulfed their kingdom with melted ice-cap water when it caused atmospheric heat as it crashed into the Sun. An ironic view exist if one compares the "sinking" of the TITANS by a rogue "snowball" comet - with the sinking of the ship TITANIC by a iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean. See TITANIC.
The Titans, as they are described in Warcraft lore, are colossal gods with metallic skin from the far reaches of the cosmos.
