Fitting Before TrueType glyphs are rasterized they go through a process called grid fitting where a tiny program (associated with each glyph) is run which moves the points on the glyph's outlines around until they fit the pixel grid better.

A system suggested by Tom, my structural engineer, for identifying specific locations on my building site. The system uses letters from A to G running one direction, and numbers from 1 to 3 running perpendicular. So I talk about "the Grid B2 column" or "the Grid F purlin". The MicroMODEL surface, rock and grade model(s) are stored as two-dimensional and three-dimensional matrices called grids. All grids in a database will have the same dimensions as defined by the number of rows, columns, and levels in the Project Information File. Each grid cell (topography) or block (rock and grades) contains values relative to the grid and label number.
