Tib.Wang] A Ceremony which introduces the practitioner to the powerfield of a certain Buddha aspect. It may be given as a blessing or at the start of a practice. One also needs a Lung, a reading of the text, and a Thri, the instructions on how to use it. The effectiveness of these methods in developing one's awareness cannot be overestimated.

A ritual in which a master invokes the enlightened presence of a deity or bodhisattva to bless the open, devoted mind of a disciple. The disciple thereby receives the authority, blessing transmission, and empowerment to cultivate the meditation of that deity.( Back to the top)

(Tib.: wang kur): a formal and often complex initiation into a specific practice of deity yoga, using a mandala, and lasting from 1 to 3 days.

( Skt. abhisheka / Tib. wang): A ritual initiation into a mandala of a particular Buddhist practice, empowerment is conferred by a lineage teacher who is a recipient and practitioner of such transmissions. Thus, the student is empowered to perform the practice.
