American Medical Association. Organization that provides medical information to physicians and patients.

American Medical Association. A professional organization for physicians. The AMA is the secretariat of the NUCC, which has a formal consultative role under HIPAA. The AMA also maintains the Current Procedural Terminology (CPTä ) code set. American Hospital Association (AHA): A health care industry association that represents the concerns of institutional providers. The AHA hosts the NUBC, which has a formal consultative role under HIPAA.
American Medical Association. A national physician's group. The AMA publishes a set of guidelines called "Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment." If your permanent disability is rated under the 2005 rating schedule, the doctor is required to determine your level of impairment using the AMA's guides.
Automobile Manufacturers Association. Canadian equivalent is the CAMA.
