Attention Identifier. A one byte data field used to indicate the method used to initiate a transaction (e.g. a PA key) from a 3270-like device. Automatic Initiate Descriptor. A CICS control block used for automatic task initiation due to a transient data or interval control event.
Access Identifier
Attention identifier. A character in a data stream indicating that the user has pressed a key, such as Enter, requesting an action by the system.

Action ID. This is an MPORT term for the internally assigned number to identify an action. AID is one of the columns in the Transaction Report. See also: Action ID.
Application Identifier. Identifies an application in a smart card. AID consists of two data elements: the RFID (registered identifier) and the PIX (proprietary identifier).
