a device that launches aircraft from a warship
shoot forth or launch, as if from a catapult; "the enemy catapulted rocks towards the fort"
(or Launched) The use of linear induction motors, powered pneumatic tires, compressed air or anything else ride designers can come up with to launch coaster trains from a standing start. An alternative to a traditional chain lift system.
Also known as Launched it can be in the form of linear induction motors (LIM's), pneumatic tires, compressed air or anything else that can be used to launch a coaster train so it can travel round the coaster circuit, instead of a lift hill. E.g. Rita at Alton Towers has a launch at the start of the ride which powers it for the whole ride.
A type of launch where the train zooms out from the station, without the aid of a lift hill or booster wheels.
