A large South American snake of the Boa family (Eunectes murinus), which lives near rivers, and preys on birds and small mammals. The name is also applied to a similar large serpent (Python tigris) of Ceylon.

Anacondas (local name: Sucuri) are four species of aquatic boa inhabiting the swamps and rivers of the dense forests of tropical South America. The Yellow Anaconda can be found as far south as Argentina.
Anaconda is the installer for Red Hat Linux and Fedora Core. It is written in Python and C, with a graphical frontend using Py GTK and a text frontend using python-newt. A kickstart file can be used to automatically configure the installation, allowing users to run it with minimal supervision.
