The method of teaching at İYTE varies according to department and according to lecturer. The general tone is set by classroom lectures as well as by the laboratory or design studio. Class attendance carries real weight in the educational system at İYTE and is formally controlled. Attendance in formally organised laboratory or design studio sessions is equally important. The percentage-weight carried by attendance in each course is indicated on the course information sheet and syllabus.
