Tom Bradley is an American novelist and essayist. He is the author of The Sam Edwine Pentateuch, a five-book series which includes the novel Acting Alone. Bradley's essays are regularly featured by Arts & Letters Daily and his stories have appeared in anthologies in America and in Europe.
Thomas J. "Tom" Bradley (December 29, 1917 – September 29, 1998) was the mayor of Los Angeles, California from 1973 to 1993 (five terms) and the second African American mayor of a major U.S. city. He unsuccessfully ran for governor in 1982 and 1986.
