Seven ships of the United States Navy have been named USS Massachusetts in honor of the sixth state.

USS Massachusetts (BB-2), an Indiana-class battleship, was the fourth ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the sixth state.

USS Massachusetts (BB-54) was a South Dakota-class battleship, the sixth United States Navy ship to be named in honor of the sixth state. Her keel was laid down on 4 April 1921 by the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation. Her construction was suspended on 8 February 1922 at 11 percent complete, and canceled 17 August 1923 in accordance with the provisions of the Washington Naval Treaty.

USS Massachusetts (BB-59), a battleship of the second South Dakota-class, was the seventh ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the sixth state. Her keel was laid down 20 July 1939 at the Fore River Shipyard of Quincy, Massachusetts. She was launched on 23 September 1941 sponsored by Mrs.
