Micro or minicomputers which are nodes on a computer network and which can be used to perform a number of tasks by using their own resources as well as by tapping into the other devices which are shared on the network.
A class of computers small enough in size and cost to be used by a small group or an individual in their own work location yet powerful enough for large-scale scientific and engineering applications. Typically with a Unix operating system and good graphics.

Any space for which a function is accomplished. This may be an enclosed space or a space in an open area. A workstation does not necessarily require that a person or persons be assigned to that particular space.
