Definitions for "Wides"
A term used to describe bundles of roving which are wider than most of the other bundles in the bed of chopped glass fibers. These usually contain 3 to 4 times as many filaments per bundle as do most of the other bundles in the roving. (See Matchstick).

The wider widths of dimension lumber or timber usually ten or twelve inch widths. A speciality mill may produce it up to 20" wide.
