vCalendar is a standard format for storing calendar and todo data. It is under the control of the Internet Mail Consortium. vCalendar files typically start with "BEGIN:VCALENDAR" and contain a line "VERSION:1.0" to distinguish them from the iCalendar format, which uses "VERSION:2.0". KOrganizer is able to read and export the vCalendar format. There are also numerous other applications, which can handle the vCalendar format and it is also used by some mobile phones and other mobile devices.
