Definitions for "USERRA"
(Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act) As it relates to benefit plans, USERRA requires a plan up to 18 months of COBRA continuation to an employee who takes a leave of absence from work to serve in the armed forces of the U.S. In addition, upon re-employment after military leave all eligible periods and exclusions will be waived unless such provisions would have applied had the person not gone on military leave.
