Non-government communication facility which provides airport information at certain airports. May be used to request services such as refueling. In some cases the UNICOM frequency may also be designated as a common traffic advisory frequency.
A common, multi-purpose radio frequency used at most nontowered airports as the Common Traffic Advisory Frequency. AOPA coined the term (derived from the words "universal communications") in the 1950s. UNICOM is also used by a Fixed Base Operator for general administrative uses, including fuel orders, parking instructions, etc. Originally 122.8 MHz universally, now includes 122.7, 123.0 and other frequencies.

UNICOM, or UNiversal Integrated COMmunication, is an air-ground communication facility operated by a private agency to provide private advisory station (PAS) service at uncontrolled aerodromes and airports with no Air Traffic Services (ATS) air-ground communication facility.
