One of the few races to survive the turmoil following the Dark War, their name in the Ancient language was Dhe'Ammon Shredain, "those who dream amidst the stars". The Ancients gave them the technology needed for interstellar travel and they quickly joined the Alliance. Unlike many other races, they felt most home in the far reaches of space, and gradually gave up all their ties to planetary environments. This was also a major factor in their survival in the Dark War, and in the later ages, after the Ancients had left, the Trader technology became one of the most advanced in the galaxy. The exchange of information and goods was always an important aspect of their culture, and when the new races rose, the Traders were quick to take advantage of it. Their keenness for trade also earned them their modern name, the Traders.
