Definitions for "Tourada"
"Tourada" (English: Bullfight) is the name of a song, sung by Fernando Tordo as Portugal's entry in the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest in Luxembourg. The song was a beautiful metaphor that heavily criticised the Estado Novo, the authoritarian regime that then ruled Portugal. Just one year later, Portugal's 1974 Eurovision entry "E depois do adeus" was one of the two songs played on the radio as a secret signal for left-wing elements in the military to move against the regime, heralding the Carnation Revolution.
