A 3D image, which is computed from a series of images that are acquired by tilting a 200–500-nm specimen from, for example, –70° to +70° using 1° increments.
A blurring technique to create a radiograph of a selected plane (layer or cross-section) of the body. Both the location of the plane, and the thickness of tissue in "focus" are controlled by the type of blurring movements used. Largely supplanted by "computerized tomography" - that produces a similar cross-sectional image using a computer. image
