Number that identifies a merchant to the front-end network. A unique number is assigned to each POS terminal.
The number assigned to a credit card transaction device (such as a POS terminal). It identifies the merchant's equipment to the processor and bankcard data transport networks. A TID is also used for payment gateways and other software applications.
This is the Terminal Identification Number that is unique to each physical transaction terminal and is connected to a Merchant's processing account.

Transaction ID. This is an MPORT term for the internally assigned number that identifies the transaction. TID is one of the columns in the Transaction Report.
Additional equipment identifier for custom or NI-1 configuration on the DMS100 switch. Where Southwestern Bell uses NI-1 in its DMS100 switches, "00" is recommended as the TID. TIDS come in many different flavors and configurations.
