Definitions for "Tailender"
Players who come in towards the end of an innings, generally Nos. 8, 9, 10 and 11, who are not noted for their batting prowess (although ideally they can bowl a bit by way of compensation)
one of the last four or five batsman in the batting order, usually consisting of the specalist bowlers, and whose batting ability is progressively weaker; a poor batsman who bats low in the batting order.
