an historian who lived from 55-120 AD. He described Roman history from Augustus to Nero. Tahrif: means "corruption". It refers to the charge made by Muslim theologians against Christians of having modified and falsified the Gospel.
Publius (or Gaius) Cornelius Tacitus (c. 56 – c. 117) is one of the important historians of Roman Antiquity. The surviving portions of his two major works—the Annals and the Histories—treat the reigns of the Roman Emperors Tiberius, Claudius, Nero and those that reigned in the Year of the Four Emperors. These two works span the history of the Roman Empire from the death of Augustus in 14 to (presumably) the death of emperor Domitian in 96.
Tacitus is a lunar impact crater located to the northwest of Catharina crater, at the northern extension of the Rupes Altai ridge line. Directly west is the Almanon crater, and to the northeast is Cyrillus crater. To the southeast of Tacitus is a long chain of craters named the Catena Abulfeda.
