1) A mix of audio signals that is treated as one channel or two channels (for a stereo image) in a mix. 2) Used on larger mixing boards when selected channels are assigned to specific sub-channels before their signals reach the main slider. For Example, you could assign all the drum channels to one submix (all on one slider) so that you could turn them all up or down at the same time.
