Definitions for "Sub-Standard Risk"
An individual, who, because of health history or physical limitations, does not measure up to the qualification of a standard risk.
Person who is considered an under-average or impaired insurance risk because of physical condition, family or personal history of disease, occupation, residence in unhealthy climate or dangerous habits.
A life insurance applicant who faces a greater likelihood of early death than the group experience on which the "standard" premium rates are calculated. Examples include persons with health conditions and those who work in hazardous occupations. Also referred to as Impaired Risk.
