A statement included in many court documents - particulars of claim, defences, witness statements - stating that what is written is true.
A term used in a civil claim. A statement that confirms the truth of any court document signed by the Claimant or Defendant. Must be signed by an individual and not by a company. Anyone who lies about their case and signs a statement of truth is in contempt of court.
