This is the method of creating an under drawing on the intonaco using small dots (see gallery pics). A full size cartoon is created first and on this, the artist pricks holes along all the major lines. The cartoon is then placed on top of the intonaco and the cartoon is dusted with the sinopia pigment. This leaves an under drawing that looks like a dot-to-dot drawing (except the dots are closer together and not numbered!) This method has been used for centuries, however with technical advancements, OHPs and various other computer equipment can now aid this process.
