A measurement of the weight of the heaviest snow load likely to occur in a two-month period in a certain region. Most roof systems are designed to carry a dead load of 20 pounds per square foot. In localized areas of some snow-belt regions, snow loads of 150 pounds per square foot are not uncommon.
An imposed load exerted onto a structure or element of a structure by formation of snow.
That load induced by the weight of snow on the roof of the structure.
the live load due to the weight of snow on a roof; included in design calculations.
A roof load resulting from snowfall. Snow load is a major structural consideration when roofs are designed in areas that receive heavy snow.
a load imposed on buildings due to snowfall. (Categorized as live or environmental load.)
Imposed load due to snow fall. (An allowance for maintenance is set out in BS6399.)
Same as GSL Ground Snow Load.
