SNOLAB, the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory Laboratory, is a Canadian underground physics laboratory located at a depth of 2 km in Sudbury, Ontario in Inco's Creighton nickel mine. It currently hosts the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory. In 2002 funding was approved by the Canada Foundation for Innovation for an expansion of the underground lab facilities.http://www.innovation.ca/media/index.cfm?websiteid=227 Excavation of the new underground lab space is underway with occupancy expected in spring 2007.
