Definitions for "Service Pack"
An addition to the operation system software that provides for extra features, upgrades for additional security protection, and/or upgrades to enhance the performance and efficiency of your machine. Quite often, these Service Packs are required before you can install any type of update or patch to your machine. Often times the installation of new software requires the installation of the most current Service Pack in order for it to operate at its maximum performance.
