Sayana (सायण) (c. 1315-1387) was an important commentator on the Vedas. He was also a minister in the court of King Bukka I of the Vijayanagar Empire in South India. He had written many books called Sudhanidhis on various subjects like philosophy, relegion, medicine and poetics.
