Shugart Associates Standard Interface. An interface designed by Shugart Assoc. in 1980. It was the predecessor of SCSI.

The name of the original inventory "Salmon and Steelhead Stock Inventory" (SASSI) has been changed to "Salmonid Stock Inventory" (SaSI) to reflect the broadened inventory scope encompassing all wild salmonids.

Shugart Associate Standard Interface. Commonly pronounced sassy. An interface protocol that enables storage devices to communicate with microcomputers. Developed by Shugart Associates, SASI has been adopted as an industry standard for small disk drives. See also SCSI. (7/96)

Germans from Saxony; many migrated to Hungary, however, where some became active as miners.
