Rescue from the power and penalty of sin. Describes Jesus work in our behalf.
Inseparable connection of body and spirit brought about through the Savior's atonement and resurrection; eternal life.
Restoration of our relationship with God through God's actions of reconciliation so that we can be assured of God's love and care now and beyond death.
Rescue; liberation. In most of the Hebrew Bible the term refers to rescue from enemies, oppression, natural disasters, etc. Later the term can refer to being brought to heaven to live.
In Christian thought, most generally, liberation from the power and effects of sin; often refers to an experience or series of experiences leading to a sense of liberation; sometimes refers to the expected liberation of a Christian after death.
The state of being saved from the penalty of sin. It usually refers to eternal life in heaven, through trust in Jesus Christ. A believer is saved from Hell to Heaven. (Ephesians 2:8,9; Acts 16:31)
A term which describes the rescue of our soul from eternal death. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Eph. 2:8-9).
The act of being saved, which in Biblical terms means the promise that God will bring a person into His presence for eternity, as opposed to those that will be banned from His presence due to sin and unbelief. The Bible is not political. God is very clear about how to be saved. (John 3:16, Rom 10:9, John 5:24, Eph 2:8-9, Rom 3:21-23, 1 john 5:11-13, Rom 8:1, 2 Cor 5:17, Acts 4:12, Phil 2:9-10)
The work of grace which God accomplishes in a repentant person whose trust is in Christ as Saviour, forgiving sin, giving meaning and new direction to life, and strength to live as God desires. The deeper experience of this grace, known as holiness or sanctification, is the outcome of wholehearted commitment to God and enables the living of a Christlike life.
deliverance from the power of sin; redemption, the price being paid to purchase us from the bondage of sin; being saved from the righteous requirements of the Law.
This key term used in the Bible has to do with God's work of restoring a human being, the entire body of humanity, and ultimately the cosmos to a completeness and fullness of being. Since Christian tradition sees humanity as presently existing in a state of loss, salvation would refer to the restoration of fullness. Because full restoration of human being to its original design does not happen all at once, salvation would also refer to a process of completion.
Deliverance from the power and effects of sin.
(Christianity) the act of delivering from sin or saving from evil
a means of preserving from harm or unpleasantness; "tourism was their economic salvation"; "they turned to individualism as their salvation"
the state of being saved or preserved from harm
saving someone or something from harm of from an unpleasant situation; "the salvation of his party was the president's major concern"

A word that Mormons qualify in one of three ways: unconditional or general salvation is simply resurrection from the dead, granted to all through Christ's atonement; conditional or individual salvation involves entering the celestial kingdom through works of Mormonism; full salvation means exaltation to become a God as a result of temple ceremonies and other works.
New Agers do not believe in salvation. Salvation to a New Ager may mean salvaging your life potential by gaining knowledge of the occult. Salvation to a Christian means that you realize you are a sinner and need a Savior. Christ died for our sins. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin (see Hebrews 9:22).
The fulfillment of humanity in Christ, through deliverance from the curse of sin and death, to union with God through Christ the Savior. Salvation includes a process of growth of the whole person whereby the sinner is changed into the image and likeness of God. One is saved by faith through grace. However, saving faith is more than mere belief. It must be a living faith manifested by works of righteousness, whereby we cooperate with God to do His will. We receive the grace of God for salvation through participation in the sacramental life of the Church. See articles, "The New Birth," at John 3; "Justification by Faith," at Rom. 5; and "Deification," at 2 Pet. 1; 2 Cor. 3:18; 4:16; 5:17; Eph. 2:8, 9; Phil. 2:12, 13; James 2:14 26; 1 Pet. 2:2. See also DEIFICATION, JUSTIFICATION, REDEMPTION and SACRAMENT.
To be saved, to be rescued, to be kept from harm or damage. The Bible presents Jesus as the one who saves, the "Savior." (DTC)
is an inner overcoming, a change in consciousness. It occurs when we cleanse our minds of error thoughts. Salvation is a process that takes place within our own consciousness, not through the person named Jesus. We as individuals must cooperate with God in our own spiritual transformation just as Jesus did. Salvation results in our being made free from ignorance, lack and limitation, and in being made free for wholeness, abundance, peace and fulfillment.
The Jehovah's Witnesses do not preach that one must personally accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They dedicate their lives to Jehovah and live the lifestyle prescribed by the WBTS. They espouse a works type of salvation.

is "Life, Truth, and Love understood and demonstrated as supreme over all; sin, sickness, and death destroyed."
